Defence Forces commanders support work of SSU under Vasyl Maliuk
Defence Force commanders and analysts praised the work of the Security Service of Ukraine under the leadership of Vasyl Malyuk, emphasising its effectiveness during the war. This was publicly stated by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty, the Commander of the 1st NGU Azov Corps Denys Prokopenko, the Head of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi and the Commander of the 2nd NGU Charter Corps Ihor Obolenskyi.
The military noted the well-established coordination between the SBU and frontline units, which directly affects the sustainability of defence. According to Drapatyi, the SBU is actively involved in the destruction of critical enemy targets, work in cyberspace and the information domain, and its contribution is tangible at the operational level.
Prokopenko called Malyuk one of the most effective leaders in the security sector, while Brovdi warned against personnel changes in this position in the midst of war, emphasising the high authority of the SBU head among his subordinates. Obolensky also emphasised that the current head of the Service is in the right place.
Earlier, the media reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was considering other possible appointments for the head of the SBU, but the military community publicly advocated for the retention of the current leadership.
