Apple has unveiled the MacBook Neo, the cheapest Mac in history
This was announced by Apple.
Apple has unveiled the new MacBook Neo laptop, which is the cheapest Mac in the brand's history.
The main feature of the model is its processor. For the first time, Apple has used the A18 Pro chip, which was previously used in the iPhone 16 Pro smartphone, in a laptop.
The company notes that this processor is approximately 50% faster in everyday tasks and up to three times faster in local artificial intelligence computing compared to some Windows laptops with an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor.
The MacBook Neo has a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408×1506 and a brightness of up to 500 nits.
The device's body is made of aluminium. The laptop is 12.7 mm thick and weighs 1.23 kg.
The new product will be available in several colours: silver, pink, yellow and blue. The colour of the keyboard matches the colour of the body.
The basic configuration of the MacBook Neo includes 8 GB of RAM and a 256 or 512 GB storage drive.
The laptop is also equipped with a 1080p FaceTime HD front camera.
The battery capacity is 36.5 Wh. According to Apple, this is enough for up to 16 hours of video playback.
The available ports include USB-C 2.0, USB-C 3.0, and an audio jack for headphones. The device also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.
The base version with 256 GB of storage does not have Touch ID. In this configuration, the laptop can only be unlocked with a password. The biometric button is available in the more expensive version.
The MacBook Neo starts at $599 for the model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The version with 512 GB of storage and Touch ID costs $100 more.
