Lozinsky has been charged with a new offence relating to the procurement of equipment
NABU does not name the former official, but it is understood that the person in question is Vasyl Lozynsky.
The NABU and the SAPO have announced that new charges have been brought against the former Deputy Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development in connection with the procurement of critical equipment at inflated prices.

This was reported by NABU and the SAPO. The anti-corruption agencies did not name the suspect in their statements; however, according to Ukrainian media reports, the individual in question is Vasyl Lozynsky.

The former Deputy Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development has been notified of suspicion of inciting an official of a state-owned enterprise to abuse his official position.

The official at the state-owned enterprise has also been notified of suspicion of abuse of office.

According to the investigation, in the summer of 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated funds for the purchase of equipment intended to provide the population with alternative sources of light, heat and water supply during the winter following the destruction of critical infrastructure.

What the former deputy minister is accused of

According to the NABU and the SAPO, the former senior official acted in the interests of a specific supplier and persuaded the deputy director of the state-owned enterprise to conclude an agreement for the supply of equipment.

The SAPO noted that the equipment was to be purchased at a price 30% above market value. In return, according to the investigation, the state-owned enterprise official was promised a promotion from deputy director to director.

The actions of the former deputy minister have been classified under Part 4 of Article 27 and Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The actions of the state-owned enterprise official have been classified under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The case involving $400,000 is already being heard by the High Anti-Corruption Court

NABU has recalled that in January 2023, the Deputy Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine was caught receiving $400,000 in unlawful benefits.

According to the investigation, the money was intended to secure the purchase of equipment at inflated prices from specific companies. This case is currently being heard in the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Earlier, media sources reported that NABU had detained Vasyl Lozynsky while he was receiving $400,000 in illicit benefits.

What is known about Lozinsky

Vasyl Lozynsky was appointed acting Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine in November 2022. Prior to this, he served as First Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.

Following reports of the corruption case, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Lozynsky from his post as Deputy Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development.
