On the morning of Friday 15 May, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi was doused with an unknown liquid in Rynok Square. The mayor has already commented on the incident.

This was reported by the police.

The incident took place at around 10.40 am. A 46-year-old man from Lviv ran up to the mayor and suddenly doused him with liquid. Law enforcement officers have opened proceedings under the hooliganism charge.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Andriy Sadovyi himself and Lviv City Council have not yet officially commented on the incident.

Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that as he was walking to work, a passer-by poured a bucket of dirty liquid over his back. According to the mayor, this was hooliganism, not an assassination attempt, and it is not the first time something like this has happened to him.
