Magnetic storms on 12 March: what will the space weather be like today?
On 12 March, solar activity is expected to decrease to a moderate level.
According to the forecast, no magnetic storms are expected on this day.
At the same time, the Earth's magnetosphere will be in a pre-excited state.
This forecast of solar and geomagnetic activity was released by the Space Weather Prediction Centre of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
At the same time, the Odessa Observatory of the Radio Astronomy Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine warns of increased geomagnetic activity on 12 March.
They also do not rule out possible periods of stormy space weather.
Magnetic storms are a phenomenon in the upper layers of the Earth's atmosphere and magnetosphere that occurs due to the interaction of charged particles of the solar wind with the planet's magnetic field.
It is believed that magnetic storms can cause certain physiological and psychological changes in humans.
Some studies link them to sleep disturbances, changes in blood pressure, and even increased stress levels.
During such periods, some people also complain of headaches, irritability and mood swings.
In addition, there is a belief that magnetic storms can affect the body's biorhythms, causing temporary disorders.
At the same time, the article notes that scientific research in this area still needs further confirmation.
To make it easier to get through days of increased geomagnetic activity, it is recommended to avoid stressful situations and excessive stress.
It is also advised not to plan important tasks and meetings on such days, especially if they require significant mental effort.
Special attention should be paid to sleep and rest.
It is also recommended to watch your diet and avoid unhealthy foods, fast food and alcohol.
Regular physical activity and walks in the fresh air are considered beneficial.
If you feel a sharp deterioration in your well-being, you should consult a doctor.
