Marta Kostyuk will face Linda Noskova in the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2026
Kostiuk’s opponent in the semi-final was the ninth seed, Linda Nosková from the Czech Republic. In the quarter-final, she beat the Belgian Elise Mertens, seeded 25th.
The match between Nosková and Mertens was decided in two sets — 6–3, 7–5. In the first set, the players were evenly matched until 3–3, after which the Czech player pulled ahead with a break and closed out the set. In the second set, the 11th game proved decisive: Nosková converted a break point and then served out the match.
The match lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes. Nosková served seven aces, whilst Mertens hit four. The Czech also had the edge in winners — 30 to 18 — although she made more unforced errors.
How Kostyuk reached the semi-finals
Marta Kostyuk reached the semi-finals after defeating Italy’s Jasmine Paolini, a finalist at Wimbledon 2024. The Ukrainian defeated her opponent in two sets and continued her best-ever run at a grass-court Grand Slam tournament.
For Kostyuk, this is yet another major breakthrough this season. She had previously reached the semi-finals of Roland Garros 2026, and will now play in the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time in her career.
What is known about Linda Noskova
For 21-year-old Linda Nosková, this is her first Grand Slam semi-final. She has become the youngest Wimbledon semi-finalist since 2018, when Jelena Ostapenko reached this stage.
Nosková has also become the youngest Czech player to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals since 2011. Back then, Petra Kvitová not only reached this stage but also went on to win the title.
Head-to-head record between Kostyuk and Nosková
For Marta Kostyuk and Linda Nosková, this will be their second head-to-head encounter. They previously faced each other at the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, where the Ukrainian defeated the Czech in two sets.
That tournament was a special one for Kostyuk: Marta reached the final and became the champion of the ‘1000’ event.
When is the Kostyuk v Noskova match?
The 2026 Wimbledon semi-final between Marta Kostyuk and Linda Nosková will take place on Thursday, 9 July. The match is scheduled to start no earlier than 17:30 Kyiv time.
In the other women’s singles semi-final, American Coco Gauff will face Czech player Karolína Muchová. The winners of the two semi-finals will contest the Wimbledon title.
