Residents of the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv received humanitarian aid after a Russian missile strike
The Ministry of Social Policy, together with UNHCR Ukraine, delivered humanitarian aid to residents of the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv who were affected by the Russian missile attack on 3 February and were left without heating. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
According to official information, 120 sets of sleeping bags and chemical warmers were delivered to people receiving social services at home. In addition, 130 blankets were prepared at the support centre in school No. 172 to ensure the safety of residents at night if necessary.
Separate targeted delivery of aid to people with disabilities has been planned. At the same time, the Ministry of Social Policy, together with the city authorities, is compiling a list of homes that are completely dependent on electricity and have no alternative means of cooking. A separate response and support plan is being prepared for such households.
On the initiative of the ministry, support centres and multidisciplinary teams are working in the affected areas of the capital. Their task is to quickly identify the people who need help the most. Volunteers provide these residents with warm kits and hot meals every day.
Humanitarian aid was provided with the support of the UN Refugee Agency and distributed in cooperation with the Humanitarian Coordination Centre. Earlier, it was also reported that 100 additional places for temporary accommodation of single people with limited mobility who were left without basic housing and communal services due to Russian attacks were opened in social institutions in Kyiv.
