The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has launched a digital logistics management system for accounting and supplying military equipment. The system allows tracking equipment at all stages — from procurement to transfer to military units.

This was reported by The Public with reference to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has completed the implementation of the Logistics Support Management System (LSM) for military equipment at the Logistics Forces Command and storage bases.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted that from now on, the entire path of military equipment — from purchase to delivery to the military unit — goes through a digital system. This includes armoured medical evacuation vehicles, armoured vans such as the Kozak and Novator, trucks, pickups, SUVs, passenger cars, buggies, ATVs and motorcycles.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has reported that the system allows real-time verification of information about purchased equipment, its delivery, shipment and arrival at storage bases and military units.

Thanks to digitalisation, documents are transferred instantly and the movement of equipment is displayed online. This reduces the time required to supply units and minimises delays in logistics processes.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine also noted that the system automates procurement, distribution and reporting processes and allows for faster management decisions.

The next step will be to implement the Logistics Support Management System in military units performing combat tasks.

The system is based on SAP, a defence resource management software used by over 90% of NATO armies.
