The Ministry of Defence has set compensation for subletting housing in 2026

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has determined the amount of monetary compensation to be paid to Armed Forces personnel for renting accommodation at their place of service in 2026. The relevant decision was adopted on 24 February 2026.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

According to the decision of the defence department dated 24 February 2026 No. 2385/z, in 2026 the amount of compensation is: in the city of Kyiv — 4,560 UAH, in regional centres — 3,420 UAH, in other settlements — 2,280 UAH.

For military personnel with three or more family members, the amounts are increased by 1.5 times.

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Defence Forces are entitled to compensation if they do not have their own housing at their place of service.

The payment is provided for officers, in particular those who are serving under conscription, as well as for privates, sergeants and senior sergeants who are serving under contract, and cadets of higher military educational institutions and military training units who have families.

The amount of compensation is determined annually by the Ministry of Defence, taking into account the financial resources provided for in the estimate for the relevant budget year.

The procedure for appointment and payment is regulated by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 450 of 26 June 2013, as amended, and the Instructions on the organisation of housing for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their families, approved by Order of the Ministry of Defence No. 380 of 31 July 2018, as amended.
