Peace at the negotiations, not on the front: Geneva consultations on Ukraine
“Peace cannot be built on the conditions of fear — only on the conditions of respect.”
According to ThePublic.info citing CNN, on Sunday, November 23, consultations will begin in Geneva between the USA, Ukraine, and European Union countries regarding Donald Trump's peace plan, which contains 28 points and has already become a subject of discussion in international circles.
The US Army Secretary, Lloyd Austin, has already arrived in Switzerland with a team. According to him, the main task of the meetings will be to determine further steps in promoting peace initiatives.
According to American officials, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are also expected to join the Sunday consultations.
The key goal of the negotiations is to agree on formulations and positions ahead of a possible meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump.
Separately, Washington is preparing a channel for negotiations with the Russian side — specifically regarding this plan, which has already caused concern both in Kyiv and in several European capitals.
In addition to American and Ukrainian officials, representatives of European governments are planned to join the consultations in Geneva to develop a common Western position on future peace negotiations.
Recall that earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the composition of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations with the USA, international partners, and Russia.
