The Ukrainian Armed Forces Land Forces Command has officially denied reports that preparations are underway for the compulsory mobilisation of women. The military stressed that such reports in the media are manipulative and are being used by the enemy to destabilise society

This has been reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Land Forces Command

Who is subject to registration?

Ukrainian legislation regarding the recruitment of women into service remains unchanged:

  • Women may join the Armed Forces solely of their own volition.

  • Only female citizens with a medical or pharmaceutical education are subject to compulsory military registration.

Technical errors in the ‘Oberig’ system

The command commented on cases where women without the relevant education were accidentally registered. An internal investigation revealed that such entries were made into the system back in 2021 due to technical glitches. Work is currently underway with the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff to address these gaps in the ‘Oberig’ database and enable the correction of such discrepancies.

Combating disinformation

The Army notes that the topic of women’s mobilisation is often targeted by hostile online disinformation campaigns. Citizens are urged to trust only official statements and not to spread unverified rumours.
