Mandatory evacuation of 14 border villages announced in Chernihiv region — a police officer evacuates a child

In Chernihiv region, a decision was made to evacuate four communities from 14 border villages due to daily shelling. The evacuation is scheduled to be completed in 30 days.

Mandatory evacuation from 14 border settlements of Novhorod Siverska, Semenivka, Snovka and Horodnyanska communities has been introduced in Chernihiv region. The decision was made by the Regional Defence Council, said Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the border areas are under daily shelling. Despite the constant danger, about 300 people still live there. In 2025, more than 1,400 residents have already left the border area, but the military insists on the complete removal of civilians from the risk areas

In the near future, residents of 14 villages will be informed about the assembly points. All the necessary services are involved in the process, evacuation routes have been identified and transport has been provided. It is also noted that the resettlement of evacuees is mandatory and guaranteed places of temporary residence have been prepared for them

The evacuation measures are expected to be completed within 30 days
