The Stork Hrytsko, Pyriatyn National Nature Park
On 22 March, the first stork of the season arrived at a nest in the Pyriatyn National Nature Park in the Poltava region. Its arrival was captured live on camera, with over 200 viewers watching at the time; however, the bird turned out not to be from the pair that observers are waiting to return.

This was reported on the “Leleka Hrytsko” page and by researcher Iryna Sarazhynska.

On 22 March, the first stork of the season was spotted in the Pyriatyn National Nature Park in the Poltava region. The bird was seen in its nest, which is being monitored via a live stream.

At the moment the stork appeared, over 200 viewers were watching the broadcast. The visit itself did not last long – about a minute and a half.

During this time, the bird managed to move one of the branches in the nest before flying away.

However, observers clarified that this was not the stork they had been expecting. According to them, it was neither Hrytsko nor Odarka – the pair traditionally followed by viewers – who flew into the nest.

As the authors of the post noted, a similar situation had already occurred last year. According to the researcher, on 20 March 2025, the first stork in this very nest was also not its regular occupant, but a stray bird.

Now observers are awaiting the return of the pair that nests here permanently. The post expressed hope for further developments and more good news.

As a reminder, in Odessa, the sea has become covered in yellow patches and smells of sunflower oil: what is the cause?
