Senior navigator of Su-27 fighter jet Yevgeny Ivanov killed in eastern Ukraine
Senior navigator of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Ivanov, was killed while performing a combat mission in eastern Ukraine. The tragedy occurred at noon on December 8, when the crew was flying a Su-27 fighter jet.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported the death of the officer. Details of the incident are not being disclosed at this time, but it has been clarified that the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
Yevgeny Vitalievich Ivanov was an experienced military pilot and senior navigator of the brigade. The Air Force expressed its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
This is not the first loss suffered by Ukrainian aviation in recent times. In August, MiG-29 fighter pilot Major Serhiy Bondar was killed while landing after completing a combat mission.
The Air Force emphasizes that despite the danger, Ukrainian aviation continues to carry out combat missions on the front lines.
