The presentation took place on Khortytsia Island in Zaporizhzhia with the participation of NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy and Zaporizhzhia Regional Council Chair Olena Zhuk.
Three coins have been put into circulation: "We are strong. We are together. Zaporizhzhia region", "We are strong. We are together. Kharkiv region" and "We are strong. We are together. Kherson region".
The National Bank of Ukraine reported that the face value of each coin is 10 hryvnia. They are made of a zinc-based alloy with a nickel coating and are legal tender throughout Ukraine.
The reverse side of each coin features a stylised map of Ukraine with administrative boundaries and the region to which the coin is dedicated highlighted. The obverse corresponds to the design of the standard 10 hryvnia coin from 2018.
The NBU has announced that two million of each of the new commemorative coins will be gradually introduced into circulation. Part of the mintage will also be released in special rolls of 25 coins for sale through the NBU's online store and distributor banks.
