Turkey's defence industry hands over new missile systems, tanks and drones to troops
Turkish defence industry has handed over another batch of modern weapons systems to the country's Armed Forces. This was announced by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, a representative of the Turkish Ministry of Defence.
According to him, the national defence industry continues to strengthen the capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces on land, at sea, in the air and in cyberspace. He emphasised that Turkish developments have already proved their competitiveness at the global level.
The Ground Forces Command received L UMTAS long-range laser-guided anti-tank missiles, Hisar O medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, KARAOK anti-tank systems, as well as modernised M60T main battle tanks. The troops also received new Bayraktar TB 3 unmanned aerial vehicles after completion of inspections and acceptance procedures.
In addition, the seventh T 70 multi-role helicopter is scheduled to be delivered to the Air Force on 23 December as part of the national helicopter programme.
The Turkish Ministry of Defence notes that the supply of its own weapons reduces the country's dependence on imports and increases the combat readiness of the army in the face of growing regional and global threats.
