Messages in support of Ukraine have appeared on the Telegram channel “Sergey Sobyanin. Personal Blog”.

According to media reports, the posts included calls to donate to support the Ukrainian military. Pro-Ukrainian slogans also appeared on the channel.

The media speculate that the channel may have been hacked. At the time of reporting, there had been no official confirmation of this theory from the Moscow authorities.

Which channel is linked to Sobyanin

This is not the Moscow mayor’s main Telegram channel, but the channel “Sergei Sobyanin. Personal blog”.

According to media reports, a link to it was posted on Sobyanin’s official website, so the channel is not considered to be a random or third-party hoax.

It usually featured announcements of content from the Moscow mayor’s website.

What happened to the posts

After pro-Ukrainian messages appeared, some of the posts were deleted.

Some media outlets reported that the channel had temporarily gone blank or become inaccessible.

At the time of publication, there had been no official explanation from Sobyanin or his press office.

The incident took place on 21 June, Sergei Sobyanin’s birthday.

The appearance of such posts on a channel linked to one of Russia’s most prominent officials quickly attracted the attention of both Russian and Ukrainian media.
