A series of earthquakes struck near Crimea within a few hours
On the morning of 22 June, a series of earthquakes was recorded off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea. The strongest of these had a magnitude of 3.8.
This was reported by the Main Centre for Special Control.
According to experts, four earthquakes occurred in the Crimean Peninsula area over the course of several hours.
The first tremor was recorded at 5.09 am, followed by seismic activity at 5.27 am, 6.14 am and 7.11 am.
The epicentres of all the earthquakes were in the Black Sea, approximately 13 kilometres from the peninsula’s coastline. The epicentres were located at depths ranging from 16 to 25 kilometres. The magnitude of the tremors ranged from 3.3 to 3.8 on the Richter scale.
“According to the earthquake classification, these are classified as ‘felt’ earthquakes,” the Main Centre for Special Monitoring noted.
According to local Telegram channels, the tremors were felt in various parts of Sevastopol. No reports of casualties or damage have been received so far. Experts are continuing to monitor the seismic situation in the Black Sea.
