Over the past 24 hours, there have been 227 combat engagements on the front line, with the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors remaining the most intense
The 1,616th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 227 combat engagements took place on the front line over the past 24 hours.
Russian forces carried out one missile strike using two missiles and conducted 83 air strikes, dropping 269 guided bombs. In addition, the enemy deployed 10,600 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,240 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, 37 of which were carried out using multiple launch rocket systems.
Over the past 24 hours, the missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck six drone control centres, ten areas where personnel were concentrated, and one Russian military command post.
Seven combat engagements were recorded in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. The enemy carried out 77 attacks, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, Russian forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian units ten times in the areas of Kozacha Lopana, Petro Ivanivka, Izbytske, Aniskine, Ivashkine, Symynivka and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, there were six attacks; in the Lyman sector, the enemy made 16 attempts to breach the defences; in the Sloviansk sector, 19 assaults were recorded; and in the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops carried out four attacks.
The Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors remained among the most active. In the Kostiantynivka sector, the occupiers carried out 27 attacks, whilst in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 34 assaults.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked twice; in the Huliaipole sector, they carried out 11 attacks; and in the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders halted one attempt by the enemy to advance. No offensive actions were recorded in the Dnipro sector.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.
The General Staff also reported that Russian forces suffered losses of 1,560 personnel over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian forces destroyed one tank, six armoured fighting vehicles, 71 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, 16 ground-based robotic systems, 1,755 unmanned aerial vehicles, 548 vehicles and four pieces of specialised equipment.
