In the village of Yizhivtsi, Chernivtsi District, law enforcement officers are searching for a 54-year-old local resident who, during investigative proceedings, opened fire on police officers with a hunting rifle and fled.

According to the National Police, at around 07:45 on 28 July, police officers arrived at the man’s home to carry out investigative procedures as part of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine concerning the unlawful handling of weapons.
