The Russian Ministry of Defence has announced that no military equipment will take part in the 9 May parade on Red Square in Moscow. This decision was attributed to the ‘current operational situation’.

This is stated in a press release from the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Furthermore, cadets from military academies will not be involved in this year’s parade. However, the event will feature servicemen from all branches and arms of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as aerobatic display teams and Su-25 aircraft.

The display of military equipment is a key part of the 9 May parade in Russia. Parades in Moscow were held without it only in 1996 and 1997. And since 2022, significantly fewer vehicles have been displayed.

As a reminder, Russia wants to restrict foreign films during the May holidays.
