Between January and April 2026, local authorities collected 73.5 million hryvnias in parking fees.

This was reported by the press office of the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

Between January and April 2026, taxpayers paid 73.5 million hryvnias in vehicle parking fees to local budgets.

Compared with the same period last year, revenue increased by 12.3%.

In 2025, this figure stood at 65.5 million hryvnias.

Which regions paid the most

The highest revenue from parking fees was recorded in the Odesa region – 27.1 million UAH.

The Lviv region paid 19.5 million UAH.

The Dnipropetrovsk region paid 16.7 million UAH.

The Ivano-Frankivsk region paid 3.8 million UAH.

The State Tax Service noted that the increase in revenue indicates a rise in legal awareness among business owners. Positive changes are also attributed to the introduction of cashless payments and effective oversight by the tax authorities.

Where the funds go

Revenue from vehicle parking fees remains within the local communities.

They can be used to fund urban improvements and upgrades to road infrastructure.

Who pays the parking fee

It is not drivers who pay the vehicle parking fee.

It is paid by legal entities, their branches, offices and representative offices, as well as sole traders operating car parks.

The tax base is the area of the land plot allocated for parking by a decision of the city council.

The base also includes the area of municipal garages, car parks and parking facilities built using local budget funds.

What is the rate of the fee

The rates are set by local councils.

They may amount to up to 0.075% of the minimum wage per 1 sq m of land area.

In 2026, this amounts to 6.49 UAH per square metre.
