Wildberries warehouses are on fire in St Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, Tver and occupied Crimea (VIDEO)
Explosions were heard in St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region on the morning of 24 July, after which fires broke out at Wildberries’ warehouses. According to monitoring Telegram channels, analysis of eyewitness accounts has established that a logistics complex in the village of Novosaratovka, Vsevolozhsky District, Leningrad Region, caught fire. This facility is situated near the administrative boundary of St Petersburg and serves the city.
Subsequently, sources reported two separate fires at Wildberries warehouses in St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The Governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdjenko, stated that 59 drones had been shot down in the region. According to him, three people were injured as a result of the attack on the warehouse in Novosarativka. Warehouses belonging to the ‘Pivnichna’ poultry farm in the village of Sinyavino, Kirovsky District, were also hit. Due to the threat posed by drones, operations at Pulkovo Airport in St Petersburg were temporarily suspended.
Wildberries confirmed that it had temporarily suspended operations at its logistics centres in Shushary and Utkin Zavod in St Petersburg. The company promised to provide a separate update once operations resume.
According to reports on Telegram channels, the Wildberries logistics hub in Tver and the company’s sorting centre in occupied Simferopol were also attacked overnight. Wildberries stated that the centre in Simferopol had been evacuated in accordance with safety requirements.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported on a fire at a Wildberries warehouse in the Leningrad Region following a drone attack, as well as social media reports of a strike on the company’s warehouse in occupied Simferopol.
