Patriarch Filaret hospitalised in Kyiv due to deteriorating health

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, 97-year-old Patriarch Filaret, was hospitalised in one of Kyiv's hospitals due to deteriorating health.
According to the church's press service, the clergyman is under constant medical supervision and is receiving the necessary medical care.
The church also called on the clergy and believers to pray for the patriarch's health and his speedy recovery.
Earlier, in August last year, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine reported a noticeable deterioration in Filaret's health and called on believers to support him with their prayers.
At the same time, the Kyiv Patriarchate explained that the primate was undergoing routine examination and treatment, and his condition was assessed as satisfactory.
