From 1 March 2026, pensions in Ukraine will be indexed at a rate of 12.1%. The recalculation will be carried out automatically, including for disability pensions.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an indexation coefficient of 12.1% for 2026. The indicator is determined by the formula: 50% of the inflation rate for the previous year and 50% of the average wage growth for the previous three years.

The indexation applies to old-age pensions, disability pensions, pensions due to the loss of a breadwinner, and other insurance pensions granted under Law No. 1058-IV. The recalculation is carried out automatically without applying to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Iryna Bosa explained that indexation does not apply or applies with certain features if the pension was granted or recalculated within the last 12 months before 1 March, the payment is not an insurance pension, the pension is granted under special laws, or the person receives the minimum guaranteed payment.

For civilians, the amount of the disability pension is determined by Article 30 of Law No. 1058-IV and is as follows: Group
I — 100% of the old-age pension; Group
II — 90%; Group
III — 50%.

If the old-age pension was 6,000 UAH, after indexation it will increase to 6,726 UAH. In this case, the payment will be: Group
I — 6,726 UAH; Group
II — 6,053 UAH; Group
III — 3,363 UAH.

If the old-age pension was UAH 10,000, after indexation it will be UAH 11,210. The payments will be: Group
I — UAH 11,210; Group
II — UAH 10,089; Group
III — UAH 5,605.

The minimum disability pension for persons who have lost their working capacity is set at the level of the subsistence minimum for incapacitated persons. If the calculated amount is lower, a supplement is paid.

For military personnel, the disability pension is determined as a percentage of monetary allowance in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Pension Provision for Persons Discharged from Military Service and Certain Other Persons": Group
I — up to 100%; Group
II — up to 80%; Group
III — up to 60%.

For example, with a monetary allowance of 25,000 UAH, the pension may be: Group
I — up to 25,000 UAH; Group
II — up to 20,000 UAH; Group
III — up to 15,000 UAH.

Thus, the actual amount of the payment is individual and depends on the insurance period and official earnings," Bosa noted.
