This has been reported by the FREEDOM TV channel.
The Ukrainian delegation has already briefed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the results of the first day of talks. According to the head of state, the priority at present is to determine the Kremlin’s genuine readiness to end hostilities.
Washington and Kyiv have focused their attention on the following issues:
-
preparations for a trilateral format involving the Russian Federation;
-
future security guarantees for Ukraine;
-
plans for the country’s post-war reconstruction.
White House Special Representative Steve Witkoff confirmed the positive momentum, noting that the parties had managed to significantly narrow the scope of their differences. The US considers the very fact of sustained dialogue to be an important step forward, despite the complexity of the negotiation process.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Turkey, Nariman Dzhelal, expressed his conviction that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan retains the ability to influence Vladimir Putin to initiate genuine negotiations with Ukraine.
