Top five: which regions saw the highest number of electric vehicle purchases in early 2026
BYD and Tesla
The number of electric vehicles has risen to almost 6,000, with models from BYD and Tesla leading the market.

During the first quarter of 2026, the Ukrainian electric car market saw an increase of almost 5,700 vehicles.

This was reported by Ukravtoprom.

Buyers were most active in the capital, as well as in the Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Volyn regions. At the same time, the segment of used vehicles imported from abroad continues to dominate regional markets.

According to statistics, the regional breakdown of registrations is as follows:

  • Lviv region – 667 units (91% used);
  • Kyiv city – 656 units (56% used);
  • Kyiv region – 502 units (69% used);
  • Volyn Oblast – 443 units (96% used);
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast – 378 units (68% used).

The leaders among new models were representatives of the BYD range, notably the Sea Lion 06, Leopard 3 and Yuan Up, whilst in the used vehicle segment, the Tesla Model 3, Model Y and Nissan Leaf remain in the lead.

The high concentration of registrations in these regions indicates the steady development of charging infrastructure and sustained interest among drivers in eco-friendly transport in the country’s major hubs.
