More than 550,000 gun permits generated by Ukrainians through Diia
More than 550,000 permits for registered weapons have already been generated by Ukrainians through the Diia app. The service became available in March 2025 and is based on the Unified Register of Weapons, greatly simplifying access to licensing procedures for citizens.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the digitalisation of services for gun owners is a logical continuation of the reform that started in June 2023. The Single Window for Citizens was launched then and is now showing stable results.
During this time, almost 190 thousand extracts on the availability of permits were generated through the online services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Also, more than 12,000 applications for permits were submitted and about 2,500 gun owners' insurance contracts were issued.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasises that the demand for electronic services is growing, and digital tools can reduce the time for processing documents, reduce the bureaucratic burden and increase the transparency of the licensing system. In the future, the agency plans to expand the list of online services and deepen the digitalisation of public services.
