Despite his accounts having been frozen for over a year, Petro Poroshenko continues to supply the front line. Today, soldiers from the 12th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces received another consignment of equipment — ranging from electronic warfare systems to the 500th lorry in the series

Petro Poroshenko announced this on his Facebook page

Financial obstacles and ‘Plan B’

The fifth President emphasised that the authorities have been disrupting Supreme Court hearings on his case for four months now. The freezing of accounts raised the prospect of a complete halt to funding for defence projects, but a solution was found through the legal involvement of Maryna Poroshenko.

“Whereas Marina used to help me support the Armed Forces, now it’s the other way round: I’m helping Marina. We’ve managed to unfreeze some of the accounts, which she will now manage. It is with these funds that we’ve purchased the latest shipment, explained Petro Poroshenko.

What exactly did the military receive this week?

A group of military friends (Tactical Operations, paratroopers, engineers, Special Forces) were provided with the equipment needed for assaults and defence:

  • 10 quad bikes for rapid troop movement;

  • electronic warfare systems to neutralise enemy drones;

  • mobile sawmills for erecting fortifications;

  • DAF lorries of various models.

An anniversary milestone: 500 lorries

Poroshenko summed up four years of work: 500 lorries (DAF, TATRA, MAN, tractor units) have already been delivered to the front. The total cost of this fleet alone amounted to over 400,000,000 hryvnias. The politician assured that, despite any pressure, the supply of equipment would continue uninterrupted, as providing high-quality support to those holding the front line is the number one priority.
