The return of the cult franchise: the trailer for Scary Movie 6 has been released
Paramount Pictures announced the release of the trailer.
One of the key events of the project was the reunion of the Wayans brothers. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Kenen Ivory Wayans are working together as screenwriters and producers for the first time in 18 years.
In the trailer, the authors poke fun at modern horror films and TV series. Among the parodies are The Sinner, The Weapon, The Substance, and the TV series Wednesday. There are also references to Scream 6, Megan, The Trap, Smile, The Terrible, and Long Legs.
Actors from previous instalments have returned to the franchise: Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, John Abrahams, Cherie Outer and Chris Elliott.
The original 2000 film Scary Movie was one of the highest-grossing R-rated comedy horror films and launched one of the most successful parody series in film history.
