The NABU has launched a competition for the Public Oversight Council: who can apply
This was announced by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has announced a competition to select members of the Public Oversight Council at the NABU.
The Council will consist of 15 members. They will be selected based on the results of the competition through an online ranking vote by citizens residing in Ukraine.
In a video, NABU recalled that in July 2025, Ukrainians defended the independence of NABU and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).
“We are grateful for your trust. But trust means involvement. Get involved. Make suggestions. Bring about change. In the Public Oversight Council at NABU. Applications accepted until 29 May,” the video states.
Who can nominate candidates
Candidates for the competition are nominated by civil society organisations.
They must meet two key conditions: they must have been registered for at least one year prior to the date of the competition announcement and must have statutory activities related to the prevention and combating of corruption.
A single civil society organisation may recommend no more than three candidates.
Candidates are nominated subject to the restrictions set out in the procedure for forming the Public Oversight Council at NABU.
What documents are required
Documents will be accepted from 15 to 29 May 2026 inclusive.
They must be sent by email to [email protected].
The list includes:
– a decision by the governing body of the public association on the nomination of candidates;
– an access code to the results of administrative services relating to the state registration of legal entities, public organisations and sole traders, or a copy of the articles of association if these are not available on the e-services portal;
– the candidate’s application to participate in the competition, stating that there are no restrictions on their membership of the Council;
– details of the document certifying identity and confirming Ukrainian citizenship;
– the candidate’s CV;
– a cover letter;
– the candidate’s contact telephone number and email address.
NABU specifies that each electronic document must be a separate PDF file. The file name must include the candidate’s surname, initials and the title of the document.
The total file size must not exceed 25 MB. If the documents are archived, no password is required.
Electronic copies must be of high quality, legible and fully reflect the information provided.
How to confirm submission
Delivery of documents to [email protected] must be confirmed by email.
If no such confirmation is received within one working day of sending the documents, you must notify the Commission for Operational Response regarding the organisational and technical support for the competition.
Contact number: (044) 363 97 02.
Responsibility for the accuracy of the submitted data lies with the civil society organisation and the candidate.
NABU also notes that the submitted documents, with the exception of certain personal data, will be published on the bureau’s official website within two working days. If necessary, this period may be extended to five working days.
If a public organisation fails to meet the requirements for submitting documents, the candidates it has proposed will not be admitted to the competition.
When will the vote take place
The online ranking vote for the 15 candidates for the Public Oversight Council will take place on 10 June 2026.
Voting will take place on the NABU official website from 09:00 and will last for 12 hours.
The results will be published on the National Bureau’s website on 15 June 2026.
