Trump approved a "peace plan" to end Russia's war against Ukraine, - NBC News
U.S. President Donald Trump has already approved a "peace plan" to end Russia's war against Ukraine, which White House officials consulted with Russians about. It consists of 28 points, claims NBC News.
According to a source from the White House, this plan was secretly developed by high-ranking representatives of the Trump administration over the past few weeks, consulting with Russian Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev and Ukrainian officials.
The plan was developed by Trump's special envoy Steve Vickoff, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the American president's son-in-law Jared Kushner. "The plan aims to provide both sides with security guarantees to ensure a durable peace. It includes what Ukraine wants and needs to achieve a lasting peace," a White House representative told NBC News.
At the same time, the official did not disclose other details of the plan. He only noted that the document still requires discussion with Ukraine and Russia.
Meanwhile, three U.S. officials told the publication that the framework of the plan has not yet been presented to Ukrainian authorities, and that the deadlines for completing the draft coincided with the visit of a U.S. military delegation to Ukraine.
"Ending the complex and deadly war in Ukraine requires a broad exchange of serious and realistic ideas. Achieving a durable peace will require both sides to agree to difficult but necessary concessions. That is why we are developing a list of potential ideas for ending the war, based on proposals from both sides," Rubio wrote on social media platform X.
The sources of the publication noted that Ukraine did not participate in the development of this plan, but was informed about its general outlines, though not in detail and did not receive any proposals.
At the same time, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham stated to NBC News that he was unaware of this plan.
"But I will say this: I hope there is no plan — no plan will work until Putin believes in the seriousness of our intentions to continue providing Ukraine with more extensive military aid," he noted.
