Russian troops have attacked nine regions of Ukraine; there have been fatalities and dozens of people have been injured
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out strikes on the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Kyiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Odesa regions. The attacks resulted in the deaths of civilians, with dozens of people injured, and extensive damage to homes, civilian infrastructure and businesses has been reported.
Zaporizhzhia region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 979 strikes on 54 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, three people were killed and a further 24 were injured as a result of the attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.
There were also 197 reports of damage to infrastructure, residential buildings, vehicles and farm buildings.
Kharkiv region
Kharkiv and a further 15 settlements in the region came under attack. According to Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, three people were killed and a further 11 were injured, including two children.
In addition, the transit evacuation centre in Lozova took in 226 people over the past 24 hours. Since it began operating, 46,949 people have been registered there.
Donetsk region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops killed three residents of the Donetsk region. Two people were killed in Znamivka, and another in Druzhkivka.
A further nine people were injured: four in Znamenivka, three in Druzhkivka, and one each in Sloviansk and Karpivka.
Kherson region
As a result of Russian strikes, one person was killed and a further 11 were injured.
Two high-rise blocks and 33 private homes, a petrol station and private cars were also damaged.
Kyiv Region
On the morning of 22 July, Russian troops attacked a residential building in the village of Chaiky, Bucha District.
Five people were injured, including three children. All suffered acute stress reactions and were treated by medics at the scene.
As a result of the attack, the residential building was damaged and a fire broke out, which was extinguished by the emergency services. Another private house was also damaged.
In the Boryspil district, office and storage premises and two cars were damaged.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Russian forces carried out more than ten drone attacks and shelled the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts with artillery.
In the Nikopol district, the communities of Marganetsk, Pokrovsk, Chervonohryhorivsk and Tomakivsk came under attack, with petrol stations damaged.
In the Kryvyi Rih district, the Russians attacked the Zelenodolsk and Apostolivsk communities, damaging infrastructure. According to the Regional Military Administration, there were no casualties.
Sumy Oblast
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out more than 40 strikes on 21 settlements across 14 territorial communities in the region.
Two people were injured as a result of the shelling. Private homes, non-residential premises and civilian infrastructure were also damaged.
Odesa Region
One person was killed as a result of the Russian attack.
The strikes caused fires and damage to civilian infrastructure. Dry grass, a tobacco storage facility and the roof of a two-storey residential building caught fire. All fires have been extinguished.
In addition, the roof of a private residential building partially collapsed and a main gas pipeline was depressurised. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service were working at the scenes.
