Registration for NMT-2026 starts on 5 March: what applicants need to know
This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The 2026 admission campaign in Ukraine will start with registration for the main session of the national multi-subject test. The creation of personal accounts for participants will begin on 5 March and will take place online on the website of the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment.
Prospective applicants will be able to register in two ways. The first is automatic authorisation through the "Dія" application. The second is manual completion of the registration form on the website.
This year's testing model will remain unchanged and will follow the "3+1" format. Participants will take four subjects.
Three of them are compulsory for all applicants:
— Ukrainian language
— mathematics
— history of Ukraine
Applicants choose one additional subject depending on their future specialisation. The available options include:
— Ukrainian literature
— foreign
languages —
biology — chemistry
— physics
— geography
The testing will take place over one day in two stages. Each block will last 120 minutes.
During the first stage, participants will complete tasks in Ukrainian language and mathematics. After a short break, the second block will begin — Ukrainian history and the chosen subject.
The main session of the NMT-2026 will run from 20 May to 25 June. Registration for this period will end on 2 April.
At the same time, participants will be able to make changes to their personal accounts until 7 April.
The official test results are to be announced by 3 July.
For those applicants who are unable to take the test during the main session for valid reasons, an additional session is provided. Registration for it will last from 11 to 16 May, and testing will take place from 17 to 24 July.
The results of the additional session are scheduled to be announced by 29 July.
The Ministry of Education and Science has specified that participants in the main session will receive invitations to the test no later than 10 calendar days before the start of the exams.
For applicants from frontline territories and those abroad, an expanded network of temporary examination centres is provided. Their addresses will appear in personal accounts after successful registration.
The content of the test tasks will fully correspond to the external independent assessment programmes.
The number of tasks will depend on the subject. The largest number of questions — 32 — will be in foreign language tests, while mathematics and physics will have 22 tasks each.
