Russia plans to plunder at least 18 deposits of valuable raw materials in the temporarily occupied territories of southern Ukraine. According to Ukrainian intelligence, these include titanium, lithium, tantalum, niobium, zirconium, molybdenum and graphite.

This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a briefing by Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

Russia is preparing a new phase of economic plundering of Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the occupiers plan to extract and export valuable raw materials from southern Ukrainian territories currently under Russian control.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Oleg Ivashchenko, had briefed him on documents detailing the Russians’ plans.

“In the southern Ukrainian territories currently under occupation, Russia is planning essentially the same processes of plunder and deindustrialisation that it carried out in the occupied Donbas,” Zelenskyy stated.

According to him, Russia plans to carry out geological exploration, rapid extraction and the removal of raw materials from at least 18 deposits.

These include titanium, lithium, tantalum, niobium, zirconium, molybdenum and graphite.

Zelenskyy also reported that the occupiers are planning to seize and export this year’s grain harvest. Ukraine is preparing to counter these actions.

What else is happening in the occupied territories

In the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, the Russians have opened another ‘Yunarmiya’ centre. In the Oleshky district, a new unit has been formed from schoolchildren.

In the temporarily occupied territories, farmers are on the brink of bankruptcy due to the lack of stable markets. According to the Centre for National Resistance, farmers are forced to dump tonnes of vegetables en masse, as selling them has become economically unviable.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast, coal miners are reporting mass redundancies and non-payment of wages following the closure of enterprises.

This concerns the “Krasnyi Partizan”, “Dolzhanska-Kapitalna” and Sverdlov mines. They were previously transferred to the Rostov-based company “Donskie Uglia Trading House” LLC.
