Russian airstrikes in Zaporizhzhia: four people wounded, residential buildings damaged
On the night of 24 December, the Russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia with aerial bombs. The strikes were carried out at around 03:45. According to the regional military administration, four people were injured: women aged 75, 66 and 35 and a 46-year-old man. All the injured are being provided with the necessary medical care, their condition is being checked.
Law enforcement officials reported that at least three high-explosive aerial bombs with unified planning and correction modules were used in the city. In one of the districts, garages caught fire over an area of about 50 square metres, while in another area a car caught fire. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fires.
The blast wave damaged at least 13 multi-storey residential buildings, a fire station building, administrative buildings, an educational institution, a garage cooperative and private and municipal cars. Data on the extent of the damage continues to be updated.
The attack on Zaporizhzhia was part of a massive Russian attack on Ukraine the day before, during which the enemy used more than 600 drones and dozens of missiles, damaging civilian and energy infrastructure in several regions.
