Russian drones struck Dnipro, damaging an administrative building and a high-rise block
On the night of 15 April, Russian forces launched an attack on Dnipro. An administrative building caught fire following the attack.
Initially, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, reported that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties. It later emerged that a 29-year-old woman had been injured as a result of the strike.
Later, the regional military administration clarified that the Russians had attacked the centre of Dnipro. The strike damaged a nine-storey new-build, and a fire raged in the administrative building.
As of the morning, three casualties had been reported. According to Oleksandr Hanzha, the 29-year-old woman was hospitalised in a condition of moderate severity. Another casualty, a 22-year-old woman, as well as a 65-year-old man, are receiving outpatient treatment.
The State Emergency Service reported that an administrative building and a high-rise block were damaged in the attack in Dnipro. The fires in the administrative buildings covered an area of 460 square metres. Firefighters had contained the blaze, and operations were ongoing.
According to the regional military administration, units of the ‘East’ Air Command shot down nine enemy drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region during the night.
In addition to Dnipro, the Nikopol district came under attack. Russian troops attacked the communities of Nikopol, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka.
On 15 April, Dnipro also declared a day of mourning for those killed in the previous attack on the city. The day before, a Russian missile claimed the lives of five men aged 40, 44, 45, 55 and 62.
As of the morning of 15 April, 19 people remained in hospital following that strike. Thirteen of them were in intensive care, with two men aged 51 and 45 in a critical condition. A further eight casualties were receiving outpatient treatment.
