Russia is monitoring NATO exercises: what is Putin up to?
It is likely that the Russian Federation has launched a ‘Phase Zero’ campaign against NATO
In Poland, it is believed that Russia has changed its tactics and is closely monitoring NATO exercises near the Baltic Sea, preparing for possible provocations.

This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Authorities in Warsaw have noted that Russia is monitoring NATO’s integrated air defence exercises near the Baltic Sea.

The Polish authorities have concluded that this may be part of the ‘Zero Phase’ initiative.

Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, immediately issued an official statement.

According to him, Warsaw scrambled fighter jets and intercepted two Russian Su-30SM2 fighter jets operating from the Kaliningrad region.

In addition, it was reported that Swedish aircraft escorted the Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea.

Despite this, it is understood that the hostile aircraft did not approach Polish airspace.

“The ISW continues to assess that Russia is conducting a ‘Zero Phase’ campaign, the aim of which is to create the informational and psychological conditions for potential future provocations against NATO,” the American analysts noted.
