Russia struck a training ground during a drone exhibition: casualties have been reported
The attack was reported by Valery Borovik, founder of First Contact – a defence contractor – and a combat veteran, during a broadcast on ‘Apostrophe TV’.
According to Borovik, the Russian army dealt a serious blow to the training ground, on which an arms exhibition was taking place. Media reports described the event as a drone exhibition.
The attack resulted in casualties. Borovik did not specify the number of casualties, the condition of those injured, the type of weapon used by Russia, or the time of the strike.
The location of the training ground is also being withheld for security reasons.
There is no official confirmation as yet
At the time of publication, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence, the Army and other authorised state bodies had not issued a separate statement regarding this strike.
Therefore, information regarding the dead and injured is currently based on Valerii Borovyk’s statement. The exact circumstances of the attack and its consequences may be clarified following an official announcement by the military command.
For security reasons, the editorial team will not publish unconfirmed details regarding the location of the event, the units involved, the equipment deployed or the number of participants.
Russia has already attacked Ukrainian training grounds
Russian troops have repeatedly struck Ukrainian military training sites. In particular, on 22 June 2025, a missile struck the training ground of one of the mechanised brigades. At the time, the Army reported three fatalities and 14 wounded.
Following previous attacks, the command set up commissions to establish the circumstances and verify compliance with safety measures. It is not yet known whether an official investigation will be launched following this latest strike.
