The European Central Bank has unveiled 10 new designs for euro banknotes
Bloomberg reports on this.
The new look of the euro was unveiled by the President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde. According to her, the designs, which ‘combine beauty and meaning, will strengthen our shared identity’.

As the central bank itself notes, over 1,200 entries were received for the banknote design competition, of which 25 were shortlisted for further development.
Eurozone citizens can now vote on the design of the banknotes until 21 September. The final decision is expected to be made by the end of the year, based on the results of the competition jury’s votes and public surveys.
It is noted that the design work for the new banknotes is being carried out in parallel with preparations for the introduction of the digital euro.
