Explosions were heard in Kyiv during a missile alert
A series of explosions was heard in Kyiv during the day on 24 July following the announcement of an air raid alert.
Prior to this, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned of the threat of ballistic weapons being fired from the north. The military subsequently reported high-speed aerial targets and a missile threat to Kyiv.
“Explosions in the city. Air defence forces are operating in the capital. Take shelter!” wrote Vitali Klitschko.
According to reports that emerged after the attack, a column of smoke was visible in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region. The extent of the damage is being assessed.
No official information regarding possible damage or casualties had been released at the time of publication.
As a reminder, on the night of 24 July, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Odesa region using missiles and drones, as reported by ThePublic. According to official figures, a woman and a four-year-old child were injured, and residential buildings, cars and the premises of a business were damaged.
