Sadovyi addressed the King of Sweden as “Your Majesty”
This is shown in a video that Andriy Sadovyi posted on his Facebook page.
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden began his visit to Ukraine in Lviv. During the meeting, the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, greeted the monarch but made a mistake in his address.
Instead of the English “Your Majesty”, Sadovyi said “Your emergency”.
The mistake was captured on video, which the mayor of Lviv himself posted on his Facebook page. At first, Sadovyi did not notice that he had addressed Carl XVI Gustaf incorrectly.
During his visit, the King of Sweden said that he had looked up information about Lviv online before his arrival.
The next day, Andriy Sadovyi himself joked about the situation on social media and gave users permission to create memes.
“So I said: ‘y’or emerjensi’. You can create memes. I give you permission,” wrote Sadovyi.
