Temperatures up to +19°C and localised showers on 16 April 2026: where to expect rain today
This has been reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.
According to forecaster Natalka Didenko, 16 April will be “lovely and warm” in Ukraine. She noted that the maximum daytime temperature will be between +12 and +19 degrees.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre clarified that light rain is expected in the western and northern regions on 16–17 April. That is why precipitation is likely today primarily in the west and north of the country, whilst dry weather will persist in the east, south and most central regions.
Overnight, temperatures across the country will range from +3 to +8 degrees, rising to +14 to +19 degrees during the day. This range is also confirmed by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre’s official forecast for the coming days.
Forecasters attribute this weather to the influence of a high-pressure system, which is determining conditions in most regions. At the same time, an atmospheric front is affecting western and northern Ukraine, meaning that rain is possible in some areas there. The wind will be mainly south-westerly, 5–10 m/s. It will also be
warm in Kyiv on 16 April. According to the weather service, temperatures in the capital will rise to +17…+18 degrees during the day, with short showers possible in the evening.
As reported by ThePublic, on 16 April 2026, according to the new church calendar, believers will mark Maundy Thursday and commemorate the holy martyrs Agatha, Irene and Chionia. On this day, the martyr Leonidas and other martyrs of Corinth are also commemorated, and in the church tradition, the date falls within Holy Week following Easter.
