Fraudsters are making widespread use of fake calls from a ‘bank’ – a warning from monobank
Scam calls
Oleg Gorokhovsky, co-founder of the monobank project, stated that the most common method used by fraudsters to deceive cardholders is to make calls asking them to press certain numbers.

This is reported by Oleg Gorokhovsky.

“Over the last few months, the most popular method among office workers for defrauding cardholders has been an automated voice message (IVR) stating: ‘A login has been made to your account from an unknown device. If this was not you, press “1”’,” the report states.

Gorokhovsky noted that the customer is then connected to a live fraudster, who offers to transfer money to a ‘backup account’, apply for a loan and ‘save’ their funds.

“Protecting yourself from this is very simple – you just need to remember one rule: monobank does not call! P.S. If the IVR asks you to press 2, 3 or even 4 instead of ‘1’ – it’s still a scam,” he emphasised.
