Since the start of 2026, the minimum wage in Ukraine has already been increased, but the question of its actual amount after tax remains a pressing concern for millions of citizens. In April, the figure will remain at its current level, but there are certain nuances to the actual payments

According to the guidance published on the official websites of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the amount of payments in April will remain unchanged compared to the previous month.

In April 2026, the minimum wage in Ukraine is set at 8,647 hryvnias. This figure serves as the basis for calculating most social standards; however, the actual amount received will be lower due to mandatory state levies. Currently, the tax burden consists of 18% personal income tax and 5% military levy, which ultimately leaves the employee with a ‘take-home’ amount of 6,659 hryvnias, provided they have worked a full working week.

An important aspect of April is the stability of insurance payments, for which the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) is responsible. As the minimum calculation base remains unchanged, the amount of sick pay and maternity benefits will also remain at the level seen at the start of the year. In particular, the minimum amount of maternity benefit per calendar day will be over 568 hryvnias, providing stable support for vulnerable groups.

Experts note that although no further increases to the minimum wage are planned for April, current figures have already been adjusted for inflation. Employers are obliged to ensure that payments do not fall below the established threshold of 52 hryvnias per hour worked. The Pension Fund continues to monitor payments, ensuring that all declared social standards are met on time and in full.
