The party will hold a congress on 17 December after the end of Olena Shulyak's second term

The Servant of the People party has announced that it will convene a congress on 17 December to elect a new leader of the political force. The current chairman, Olena Shulyak, ends her term of office on 14 December after serving two terms.

Shulyak's press service confirmed that the congress will be held to renew the leadership. Several MPs also said that the election of a new leader was on the agenda. According to them, the party has not yet agreed on a candidate, although several possible candidates are being discussed on the sidelines. At the same time, the interlocutors admit that there are few people willing to lead the political force due to the high level of responsibility.

Olena Shulyak became the head of the party in 2021, replacing Oleksandr Kornienko, who moved to the post of First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. In four years, she has completed two full terms, which is the maximum possible for the head of the Servant of the People.

Who will lead the largest parliamentary party after 17 December is still an open question, and intra-party discussions are ongoing.
