The Czech Republic and South Africa were unable to decide the winner in their Group A match in the second round of the 2026 World Cup. The match ended in a hard-fought draw, with both teams securing their first points of the tournament.

The Czech Republic national team drew with South Africa in their second Group A match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta ended 1–1.

The Czech team opened the scoring as early as the 6th minute of the match. Michal Sadílek scored following a pass from Alexander Sojka.

The Czech Republic were unable to hold on to their lead. In the second half, the South African national team managed to equalise.

In the 83rd minute, Tebogo Mokoeena converted a penalty awarded after Pavel Schulz handled the ball in his own penalty area.

Following this match, both the Czech Republic and South Africa have one point each at this World Cup. In their opening match, the Czechs lost 1–2 to South Korea, whilst South Africa lost 0–2 to Mexico.

In the third round, the Czech Republic will face Mexico, whilst South Africa will play South Korea. Both matches are scheduled for 25 June at 04:00 Kyiv time.

The 2026 World Cup will take place from 11 June to 19 July in the USA, Mexico and Canada. This is the first World Cup to feature 48 teams. Previously, from 1998 to 2022, the tournament was held with 32 teams.

All participants in the 2026 World Cup are divided into 12 groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group, as well as the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16.
