The USA is preparing for war with drug cartels
This is reported by CNN and U.S. Vice President Joe D. Vance.
According to CNN sources, U.S. President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of strikes against cartels in Venezuela.
The publication reports that the recent strike on a boat, which resulted in the death of 11 drug traffickers, reflects a new strategy and is only the beginning of a larger campaign aimed at clearing the region of drug trafficking and potentially removing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro from power.
White House officials note that in recent weeks, the U.S. has deployed significant military forces to the Caribbean Basin, which is partly a signal to Maduro. Insider sources have reported that ships armed with Tomahawk missiles, a combat submarine, several aircraft, and over 4,000 American sailors and Marines are already off the coast of Venezuela.
According to the source, Trump has already authorized the military to conduct deadly operations against cartels, which his administration has officially designated as terrorist organizations.
Meanwhile, Vance stated that operations against cartels are the best use of U.S. military force.
"Destroying cartel members who poison our fellow citizens is the highest and best use of our armed forces," he emphasized.
