The US has approved the sale of bombs to Canada worth $2.7 billion
The U.S. Department of State has approved the sale of air strike weapons and related equipment worth approximately $2.68 billion to Canada. This was reported by The Public citing Reuters.
According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the suppliers will be Boeing and RTX Corporation — key players in the U.S. defense industry.
This agreement is an important step towards strengthening Canada's defense capabilities amid increasing military tensions worldwide. Although these bombs have not yet been shipped, the approval of the deal by the U.S. State Department itself indicates that the main prerequisites for delivery have been met.
The agreement will also serve as an indicator of deepening military cooperation between NATO countries, which may exchange experience and weaponry in response to modern challenges.
