The film "2000 Metres to Andriivka"
The documentary film *2000 Metres to Andriivka* by Ukrainian journalists Mstislav Chernov and Alex Babenko has won an Emmy Award in the ‘Outstanding Directing’ category.

This is stated on the award’s website.

In total, the film was nominated in six categories:

  • Best Documentary Film;
  • Best Documentary Film on Contemporary Events;
  • best screenplay;
  • best director;
  • Best Cinematography;
  • Best Editing.

The winner in the ‘Best Documentary’ category was Prime Minister, a film about New Zealand’s former Prime Minister Justinda Arden.

Mstislav Chernov was not present at the ceremony. The award was collected by Alex Babenko and the film’s producer, Michelle Mizner.

The film “2000 Metres to Andriivka” tells the story of two Ukrainian soldiers who must overcome 2,000 metres of fortified Russian positions in the forest to liberate a strategically important village. In the film, Andriivka is depicted as a ruined town surrounded by minefields.

Ukraine has submitted the film “2,000 Metres to Andriivka” to the Oscars.
